The Lawn Mower® 4.0 trimmer is our most outstanding achievement yet. It’s a significant upgrade on just about every facet of body hair grooming, and it has been met with praise at every turn. We’re very happy with the reception, and we want people to get the most out of their new trimmers.
That’s why we are making tutorial guides to help you use your trimmer a little better. This guide is going to explain the cutting guards and how to use them.
The Lawn Mower trimmer new guards
The Lawn Mower trimmers have always used cutting guards to give you more control over the length of your hair when you groom. The 3.0 had three cutting lengths. The guards could adjust to 2mm or 3mm, and you could use it at shaving length without attaching any guard. That variability is nice, but 2mm is long stubble. If you wanted more freedom, you didn’t have it.
How long are the guards on the new Lawn Mower 4.0?
That’s why The Lawn Mower 4.0 trimmer expands on cutting lengths. There are now four guard lengths. You can leave your trimmed hair at 3mm, 6mm, 10mm, or 13mm. That is the same as using a number 1 through 4 on traditional hair-cutting guards, and the maximum length is up to a quarter inch. That’s substantially longer, and it means that you can groom parts of your body without cutting things so short that they poke your skin and cause irritation. It’s a major upgrade.
How to change the guards on the Lawn Mower 4.0
Now that you have this additional freedom, you’ll want to know how to make use of these guards. This quick tutorial will walk you through the process.
Slide the guard over the front notches
When no guard is attached to the trimmer, pick the one you want to use. Slide the guard over the front notches. There are grooves on the slides of the trimmer body, and the guard should slide neatly into the grooves. When it does, the guard is attached.
Adjust the guard length
From there, you can adjust the guard length, and it’s pretty easy. Simply move the notches up or down to change the effective cutting length without removing the guard.
Remove the guard by pushing up
When you do want to remove the guard, push up on the bottom. The guard will slide off, and you can switch it with another guard or leave all guards off if you like.
